Hi, a question here from the Univ of Tenn Library-- We are attempting to try out your xtf package for our digital library and I am setting it up. I have ZERO java experience so have probably not done something that everyone assumes Java users do. On a Redhat Enterprize Linux 4 server I tried to get the packages from jpackage.org to work -- after installing about 50 packages, it asked for a version of jaf or jtf or something that this server would not accept. So I went to one of our RHEL 3 servers and enabled the RH application server channel and after installing jakarta and 30 other unfamilar looking packages it did finally install XTF. when trying to run the indexing and changed the execute on the indexer and ran it and got the below error: ----------- [root@store1 bin]# ./textIndexer -index default >The java class is not found: org/cdlib/xtf/textIndexer/TextIndexer >[root@store1 bin]# ---------- Someone said I probably needed something in my "CLASS_PATH" enviroment variable, but I'm not sure what that is or what to put in it. Could someone show an example of their CLASS_PATH? Paul Cummins UT Library |
