What's your relationship with any of the existing free PCB design software (PCB/gPCB/MUCS-PCB)? Are
you starting from scratch, or building on them?

XRM was started from scratch. I seems to me that it doesn't use the same algorithm as MUCS. I didn't know about gPCB...
The algo used is a modified and enhanced version of the Lee algo.
