Green bar with red section showing overrun. Sheldon, Martin, and John, This makes sense to me. What about tasks that complete earlier than estimated? If I remember correctly, we showed those with green/gray segments. In previous discussions we've referred to the current view as the "remaining time view" and the previous view as the "accuracy view". Another option would be to have to completely separate view of the iterations status, but the hybrid view sounds interesting. The idea behind the 100% green bar when a task is done was to minimize the noise when a manager is quickly glancing at the iteration page to get a status. The more colors, the more difficult it is to visually assess the status quickly. My perspective is that XPlanner is an experiment in progress. If there is a desire to have the hybrid view I'm willing to try it. However, I'd like to know what you think about the idea of two separate views. One would be focussed on current iteration status (the remaining time view) and the other would be most useful for iteration retrospectives (the accuracy view). The accuracy information could also be shown in some new charts/statistics. Steve |
