Will I have no wish to use this software on android.
Maybe you can look http://code.google.com/p/apktool/, he ran apktool.jar on android, is the use of java-7-openjdk-armhf to run, you can cross in the android environment compile the software.

    Thanks for the ticket.

I've not looked at this project before, but I have looked at running XOWA on android.

It's not going to be easy. There are three main problems:

    • XOWA currently needs a lua binary to run. There is no "official" lua binary on Android (I've seen some compiled by others).
    • XOWA hooks into SWT for the Web Browser. The Android WebBrowser works well, but it does things differently (especially for JavaScript). I'd have to rewrite some of that code.
    • XOWA was slow on Android. Large pages would take minutes to load (and this was before Scribunto).

apktool would help with none of these three.

It's going to take me a while to address each of the three points. I was hoping to start on this by the end of this year, but images took me a lot longer than I expected.

I'll try to have a version in a year, if not sooner. It is on my priority list, but I just need to free up a large block of time for it.

XOWA now has an Android Alpha. All further progress will be tracked at https://github.com/gnosygnu/xowa/wiki/Android
