Books compress well in the djvu format. Therefore I like to keep books in that format.
It would be really nice if xournal could annotate djvu files in addition to pdf files.
To convert a djvu file to an image, one can use the command ddjvu.

Examples of djvu files can be found in http://gutenberg.cc/DjVu.htm

Thanks!

Currently, xournal can't annotate large files anyway because bitmap versions of all pages have to be stored in memory. So I am not sure this is appropriate for the time being (perhaps later once the annotation architecture is revised and the memory consumption is more reasonable).

Another issue would be exportation to a sensible format (combining the background djvu file with the annotations, or printing, without converting to low-quality and inefficient bitmaps). As far as I can tell there's no easy way to do that...

This would be possible with Xournal++.

Is there still somebody who needs this feature?
If yes, which viewer do you use to view this djvu files?
