No

I'm running Xournal 0.4.1 (installed from standard debian packages) on Debian Linux testing running kernel 2.4.26 on a Thinkpad X60 Tablet.

1. Wow, Xournal is a GREAT piece of software! I'm very impressed; I've tried many different journalling programs, and Xournal pretty much wins. Nice going, Denis!

2. I really like the "delete strokes" method of erasing, but in my current Xournal version, that preference does not save in the configuration file. If you haven't already implemented this, then perhaps this isn't as much a bug as a new feature request.

Thanks,

Andrew

The tool preferences are only saved to the configuration file if you first make them part of the default tool (by using "Set as default" in the Tools menu). Hopefully, if you

    (1) select the eraser
    (2) select "delete strokes"
    (3) Tools - "Set as default"
    (4) Options - "Save preferences"

then (and only then) the setting will be remembered. Let me know if it doesn't work.

It seems that lots of people are confused by this. So I should perhaps add a config option to let users choose if they want the configuration to save the default tool settings or the current ones.

Yep, that worked! Ugh, sorry, "user" error!

Unfortunately, yes, I have to say the default options setup is confusing, and not what a normal user would expect. Usually what one gets are two buttons, something like "save current configuration" and "reset to default configuration". and that's about it. Limiting, but understandable. Thanks Denis.
