Is there any way to use a highlighter on an area? I do not like the clumpsy, non-straight blubs what I got for highlighting text or drawings. I might got shaky hands, but I think it is quite common among the users. I would prefer I could use the rectangular select tool to fill the selected area with highlighter. A generalization of the ticket might be an option to select an area, which will be filled with the highlighter to save plenty of back-and-forth pen movements until the desired region is fully highlighted.
I am using it on Xubuntu 16.04 LTS with the current repo version (0.4.8)

There is currently no way. This would require adding new types of graphical objects to the xournal document structure (filled areas). It is not impossible to implement, but it is enough work that I probably won't get to it in the immediate future.

OK. Thanks for the info, and for moving it into feature requests!
    Best regards,
