So what is the holdup with the 4.3 release? I see that binaries exist at the xfree86.org site, but there is no word about it here nor any update to the XonX installer.

Good question. The 4.3.0 installer will be a brand new installer, not an update installer as a lot changes with major releases. You can get the same binaries by downloading the binaries at XFree86.Org, but we do plan to release a GUI installer as well. This has been held up for several reasons. We have been looking into easier ways to make GUI installers, which currently takes a moderate amount of work to assemble and test. In addition, there are minor issues with XFree86 4.3.0 on Mac OS X 10.1.x, which we are working to resolve. (I'm not sure how many people are still using 10.1.x, but we want to do releases for both 10.2.x and 10.1.x.)

Okay. Keep up the good work. I've really enjoyed getting the full unix experience out of a Mac. Thanks.
