Guys: I'm happy to see that there is interest in the new C backend. The C code generation is mostly done. The big job ahead is to convert the Objective-C wrappers to the new C backend conventions. I hope that I will get some help doing this. I think that this conversion is completed within two months. In a couple of weeks I will send around some technical information regarding the new backend that should help those that plan to add new API. Right now I would suggest holding off on doing any improvements to the Objective-C backend.
