that is correct. We are working hard on the C backend. The mid-term strategy is to make the C backend the main target. Eventually the Objective-C backend will also be removed. Note that both C++ and Objective-C are supersets of C, so nothing will be lost. In fact, the C backend is already the most complete code generation we have. It can cross-compile OpenJDK and will also soon feature a garbage collector.
