David, what OS are you working on? I guess OSX or Linux? The Python is not originated in XMLVM. It is part of Qooxdoo, which we use in our build process. It creates a skeleton application, provides us with an Object-Oriented model and also an application builder. I am not actually sure what we used in the XML11 times, but XML11 is no longer maintained. It could be that you picked up a version that is not using Qooxdoo. What path did you set for XMLVM_QOOXDOO_PATH? I would like to reproduce this error on the weekend if possible and provide a fix.
