That we *might* get the linking exception for free, if we contribute in a way you like (or you whink we merit it, you like us, or whatever, perhaps depending on your moods that day :-) is nice, but in most commercial contexts its necessary to make estimates, before really engaging. In this context it would be very nice with a clearly stated max cost against which one is guaranteed to get a seat with linking exception, for a specific major release. The exact "max price" would not be so important. I would expect that we never paid it, as there would probably be some things that we would need to improve in XMLVM, anyway.
