Dear XMLTV team,
when initializing the imdb databe on my computer, the
program seems to either hang at prepstage 5 or take
days to complete. It continues to use all CPU resources.
I know this is step is very memory intensive but I am
running it on a 1.4Ghz computer with 256 MB Ram which
I thought would be sufficient.
How long should this step normally take?
Is there a place I could directly download the fully
initialized and indexed database from?
I am running the binary distribution of xmltv, version
5.20 on windows 2000.
Many regards,
John

the TV_IMDB manpage warns it needs over 200MB to run well.
That is 200MB *FREE* for TV_IMDB use. The only way you'll
have that much free on a windows system is with 384M. 512M
is preferred.
I'll update the documentation to be clearer.
