1. I have decided to use Beanshell instead since it seem much more suitable than Groovy for our purposes.
2. I have completed the first part, which is variable substituition into character data and attribute values.

I hope to implement a demonstration version of XML-MS using Groovy as the backend. I am also planning to update the paper based on discussions on comp.text.xml. Hopefully, the release will be soon. I would definitely appreciate help on this.

In response to comments made on comp.text.xml (about the proposal), we will release a clarified and updated version of the XML-MS paper asap. The clarifications will include separation out of background and introduction, clarification of the process model and hopefully extensions to specify in-network processing and conditional processing.
As a result of continuing research, we keep updating the comparisons and sometimes even the language elements and features. The latest modification (minor, it takes up another comparison) has been incorporated and the paper uploaded.
This project is looking for a developer to develop parser input specification and parser actions for XML-MS. I am not very proficient at this issue and would love to work with someone on it.

I have been trying to upload the latest update to the paper to Sourceforge but have been having problems with the upload ftp site at sourceforge. I apologize for the delay and am working with sourceforge support. I apologize again for the delay.
The paper describing XML-MS has been changed to reflect corrections to errors and some modifications. The latest version has been uploaded.
Some clarifications have been added. Typographical errors have been rectified (and new ones probably introduced) in the paper. I am still looking for a developer to help me with the interpreter. Any help is welcome, including people willing to contribute bits and pieces and of course advice!!
