Is this because of the way XHTML (in v1.1?) is "modularized"? I was
reading a little bit about that recently too but I haven't gotten into it
much yet so I'm not sure exactly what it's all about. If we can indeed
introduce our own markup in XHTML for use in <notes> (and perhaps other
places) that would be very nice, I think.
