Problem installing on Win XP

I'm trying to install XMLA_Provider_v1.0.0.59.exe on Windows XP Professional SP3, and I get:

    C:\Program Files\Arquery\CMLA connect\XMLAProvider.dll
Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3.

It seems to be a problem of dependencies. I've installed Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime and Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable to no avail.

Any idea on what could I do next?

    Hi Ignacio

We haven't tried this far. We only support Windows 7 and up. We haven't tried Vista either.

There are some APIs not supported native by XP we are using and this is the reason it fails.

Is there an important usage case for this? Can't you just upgrade the 15 years old OS?

    Hi again!

Unfortunately we have some very old computers with Windows XP installed in which I wanted to test XMLA connect. Don't worry, I'll try with a newer computer.

If you’re having trouble installing software on Windows XP, it’s likely due to compatibility issues. Make sure the program supports XP, run the installer as administrator, or try compatibility mode. Ensure Service Pack 3 is installed, temporarily disable antivirus or firewall, and clear temporary files. If it still won’t install, the software may require a newer operating system. https://www.boatengcreatives.com/

Windows XP is no longer supported by most modern software, which is likely why the installation is failing. If possible, upgrading to a newer version of Windows is recommended. Otherwise, you may need to use an older version of the software that still supports Windows XP or run it in a virtual machine. https://backflowservicesdoneright.com/top-backflow-installation-services/
