It would be really helpful to have bigger window (with multi line input area) with XPath auto complete functionality and possible XPath syntax highlighting.

There is no such term as multiline XPath expression (or is? :) ). But still in any case you can write XPath expression in multiple lines just like you can write SQL select in one line or in multiple, it doesn't meter. It is useful if you need to write long XPath expressions and it so hard to do it in one looong line :)
