Environment: Windows XP Professional SP2
Program version: 1.0.8.3
I have two enhancement ideas for the message pane, i.e. that little window at the bottom of the program that appears when validating a file. It usually says things like "file.xml is well formed":
- It would be handy if the Escape button closed it. Right now it's Alt+C, which is a nice hotkey but not one that I personally would find intuitive if I didn't already know it.
- Double clicking on a word in that pane does not highlight the entire word. That is not the usual standard: normally when you double click on a word the whole word is highlighted or when you triple click on a word, the entire line is highlighted.

The first has never worked under Linux (where Esc is not permitted as a menu shortcut) and stopped working when the application upgraded to wxWidgets 2.7.1. In the end I chose Alt+C as an acceptable cross-platform compromise. (Linux users had long gone without any keyboard shortcut for this.)
The second is to do with the implementation, which is currently a basic HTML box. If I change this to a rich edit box, the behaviour would probably be much closer to what you describe. Ideally this would be linked with your request for a clickable error icon that takes the user to the relevant line.
