What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 20121013 (142.0) on iMac 2.8 gHx Intel Core i7 w 4G RAM
Please provide any additional information below.
Older version worked fine with all OSX versions

Had this error when I tried to "force mono encoding". Once I deselected that, files got transcoded fine.
