Dear Edscott;
Right now rodent package manager will exit with the error "pkg is not installed".
Rodent uses ports for installing and maintaining the software rolls.
pkgmk
for downloading the source and building package from Pkgfile.
pkgrm
to remove installed packages and pkgadd for installing already build ones.
pkgadd pkgexport pkginfo pkgmk pkgsize pkg-config pkgfoster pkginstalled pkgrm
this method doesn't use dep. check. so crux uses a wrapper script called prt-get
to do the work.
prt-get depinst rodent
will install rodent applications and their dependencies.
prt-get sysup
will update the system.
ports -u
will update and copys the ports from the source to your disk.
I just mention this for the back burner. for when you have the time to add support for crux. be it in the near or far feature.
rodent change my life in linux :)
Thank you;
It should not be difficult to add support, since commands are defined in schema based xml file. I would need a Crux box to do the testing. As soon as I can get around to installing a virtual machine with Crux, I'll give it a try.
