Placement of mimetype icon or thumbnail does not short circuit from the cache. Seems this problem was introduced recently in order to get large directories on screen quicker, with simple icons.
It is now annoying.

Now icon loading is lightning fast. Even iconsize changes. Will be in 5.2.3 release.
