There are several toolbar items which I either never use at all, or I prefer to use the right-click file menu or keyboard shortcuts.
Would be nice to be able to exclude and rearrange toolbar items to reduce clutter and to not waste "GUI space" (pardon my wording - I hope it makes sense).
Also it would be nice to be able to add bookmarks (not all) and choose an icon.

I have no trouble creating custom icons in 1.42. Edit, preferences, themes tab. There is a directory path/name in a box under the heading "Icon theme path". Go there. Step up to the parent directory and make a copy of the directory with the icon set you are using, giving it a new name. Create your icon. Then rename it to replace the one that is being used in the new icon set. Then change the icon theme path to the new one, and restart to make the change visible. I have done this sucessfully creating 32 pixel x 32 pixel and 1 pixel x 1 pixel icons. The first to have something a human can see, and the second to make it disappear. 32 is plenty big enough for me. 1x1 is actually a little bigger than 1x1 - it adds a little padding, but it is still a significant saving in screen real estate and the button is so tiny you aren't very likely to click it or hover over it by accident. I hadn't thought to try a 0x0 png. I wonder if gimp can make one. Or just a 0 byte file. I may try that.
