This affects order by Type, ascending alphabetic order. I tried with order by Size and it seems to be working fine.

To reproduce this:

  1. Open a new instance of Xfe
  2. Ctrl+F for Search
  3. Close the Search window
  4. Ctrl+R for refresh
And voilà! listing is now random, even though it still shows as "Type ▼".

Sorry, I can't reproduce the issue. Could you try again with a fresh Xfe profile and detailed steps? When opening Xfe, what is the sorted column?

    close all instances of xfe
    mv xferc xferc.bak
    xfe
open /tmp (just because it has enough files; or stay in $HOME and show hidden files)
    set to "Type ▼"
    Ctrl+F
    Ctrl+W / or click "x"
    Ctrl+R
Listing is not sorted by type anymore, even though it still shows as "Type ▼". I think it's now sorted by extension.

      Fixed in Xfe 2.1.2.
