Category: None Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Allan Cunliffe (acunliffe) Assigned to: Allan Cunliffe (acunliffe) Summary: Xena-XML metadata structure Initial Comment: Relates to Xena-XML branch (change of Fri 18/2/11 10:00:14) Some aspects of the Xena file that could be changed are: * The current version is not displaying a checksum for <metadata:exported-checksum> for all Xena files. I know the intention was not to add this for all plugins initially but we will need to add it eventually - just a reminder! * Some tags are still labelled according to the old NAA plugin metadata (for example, <naa:wrapper>, <naa:datasource> etc. * the bulk of the metadata (inc. Tika metadata) is inserted at the end of the file. This may be more useful at the top of the Xena file - esp. is someone has to scroll a long way through the Base 64 encoding to get to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Terry O'Neill (terryoneill) Date: 2011-09-05 10:34 Message: Have created a new feature request (ID: 3404143: Add checksums for all Xena files) for this item from this feature request: * The current version is not displaying a checksum for <metadata:exported-checksum> for all Xena files. See also Feature Requests: ID: 3386465 and ID: 3386471 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matthew Oliver (matthewoliver) Date: 2011-03-08 11:12 Message: Cool, it's good to have a reminder for the checksums. As the current *new* schema is just a merged NaaWrapper and DefaultWrapper with new meta data objects, this is why naa is still in the tags. The tika metadata is added to the bottom as it is part of the <metadata> tag which has to go after the normalisation (package) part of the xena file, as we wont be able to generate the exported checksum until then. We could move the tika metadata up bofore then, but we'd then then to move it out of metadata into a new section of the schema. Which is fine but will need to be defined/discussed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Allan Cunliffe (acunliffe) Date: 2011-02-25 15:03 Message: Another thing I meant to add is that each Tika tag contains a namespace declaration (xmlns:tika="http://preservation.naa.gov.au/metadata/1.0"). Do we need this on all tags? It tends to bloat the output. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=577092&aid=3187779&group_id=85722 |
