Category: Normaliser Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 6 Private: No Submitted By: Allan Cunliffe (acunliffe) >Assigned to: Terry O'Neill (terryoneill) Summary: Exporting files fails for files which failed normalisation Initial Comment: Testing Branch - Xena 4.3.16 - Xena Viewer As all normalisation results are being added to Xena_Output, including failed normalisation results (this is related to Bug ID: 2866252 - where cancel does not remove results from Xena_Output directory). If I attempt a bulk export files from the Xena_Output, the export will fail on any files which previously failed normalisation. For example: [Fatal Error] 20091127113645515-digital-deluge-archive-diagram.svg-f33e48e5.xena:1:684: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity. au.gov.naa.digipres.xena.kernel.XenaException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity. at au.gov.naa.digipres.xena.kernel.normalise.NormaliserManager.unwrapGetTag(NormaliserManager.java:582) If I click OK in the Error dialog, the export completes OK. However, when it's finished, Xena displays the dialog: 'All files exported successfully', even though the files that resulted in the error are not exported. I think there are 3 issues: * Files which fail normalisation are saved to Xena Output whether you select Save or Cancel (rel to ID: 2866252). * Any files which fail normalisation should probably not be saved to output, regardless of someone selecting the Save option. In this case, we would need to let them know that any failed normalisation results are not being saved. * If there is an error exporting files, we should not say that all files were exported successfully. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Allan Cunliffe (acunliffe) Date: 2009-12-08 16:55 Message: Correction and clarification to the above. My first dot point is incorrect and not relevant to ID: 2866252. ID: 2866252 refers to text version not being deleted. Xena *does* remove .xena files from the output directory if you select Cancel. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=577089&aid=2904794&group_id=85722 |
