In revision 1.74 of xdvi > xdvik > texk > xdvik > psgs.c you switched from calling rindex to calling strrchr. Since you're now no longer using any of the obsolete functions declared in strings.h, you should switch to including string.h instead of strings.h.

The inclusion of strings.h was one of the contributing factors to build failure on Mac OS X 10.4 as reported to MacPorts here:
