Hi Carl, Great work. What I have tested seems to work well.
Some issues and suggestion follow.
In the generated html
-the META Keyswords needs a "," Comma after xdbcms
eg: <META keywords='xdbcms Hilago,Kow'>
-No stylesheet.css created. Only generates stylesheet2.css and a non referenced stylesheet_edit.css (both contain identical information)
-"Page Templates" should appear in the Explorer style cascading list above "Blocks/Stylesheets items/News items" Actually I suggest removing the "website details" drop down menu and making the items only available from the Explorer style cascading list. eg:Upload files/Upload files Catagories/Browse Image Library
Suggestion:
-Add a Help file with available commands?
-Move "Global preferences for application" and "User preferences" out of the Help tab to the Security tab and rename Security Option or Preferences or Setting?
-It Output's Tables instead of letting CSS style the output. As well as refering to non existant images files eg:images/menu_top.jpg / images/menu_background.gif / images/menu_arrow.gif / images/menu_background.gif / images/menu_round_bottom2.jpg
-Where are the images stored eg:how do I set the base directory for where images should be uploaded? Currently No picture shows when I try uploading an image.
-"Page templates" adds extra slashes to output eg: I enter <div id="container"> and it outputs
<div id=\"container\"> with the "\" Slashes , Why?
Thankyou,
Ian South

After Changing the "Page Template" a couple of time the amount of Slash's grows and grows curentley looks like the following
eg:<div id=\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"container\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"> !!

Thanks for the swift turnaround Ian, it'll take me a little while to go through it all!
I've been toying with the idea that I'll put the templates within the tree - I'll look into that - but I'll keep the menu (in good windows tradition, its always nice to have more than one way to skin that cat!).
The idea is that you copy the 'blank website' directory into your new website directory (you'll find it under the xdbcms directory) - this has all the files that you're missing. I'll double check the docs - it may be something I've missed....?
One thing I've been toying with, is the concept of creating a CD which contains tutorials, captured using a screen recording utility into movie files. Troube is that it would be too big to host at sourceforge, and I'd therefore need to create the thing as a CD. I'd have to ask for a payment for this to cover the expense of making and posting etc - I'm guessing about 3.50 ish would probably cover the whole lot - what do you think (It'd also cover the installation as well, plus have the latest install, and the windows install program too...).
I'm not too sure what you mean about 'short description' split into two - can you explain this one a bit more please?
Yes I admit that the online docs is very much out of date - generally, people would need to use the documentation at xdbcms.sourceforge.net. Good point about the keywords, I'll check that one through - it appears that the latest updates to the website didn't get through last night - so I'll include asap.
Thanks
Carl.

Carl,
Copying the 'blank website' directory into your new website directory will not be possible for the setup I have in mind. I see another user already solved the issue partialy by modifieng Library.php and by using [[MENU:TRANSPARENT]] no pictures are need.
When XDBCMS is more mature I suggest that some sort of tutorial be created that is more simplified than the existing, but for the moment I would hold off.
I believe a cheat sheet sort of help page summerizing commands would be very useful.
>>I'm not too sure what you mean about 'short >>description' split into two - can you explain this one a >>bit more please?
Sure on the "Web page data entry" you have
Short Description:(appears in page title)
Contact Us - My Web Site Description
The Short Description while being used in the page title eg:<title>Contact Us - My Web Site Description</title>
Is also used for the name of the Menu Item
<a href='contact_us.html' class=menu>Contact Us - My Website Description</a></div>
What I would like is for a seperate "Menu Description"
and a Seperate Short Description that actualy only appears in the page title.
The help menu should link to the help documents.

Thanks for the feedback - as you might have noticed, I've just filed version 0.12.
I put in the comma you mentioned, however, the main reason was that I spotted some hard coded references to the xdbcms database - which was one of the main objectives of the 0.11 release. I thought it was important enough to warrant an immediate bugfix release.
I'll be looking through your suggestions and working on them.

With regard to the item about tables being rendered as tables as opposed to CSS, are you using the tinyMCE editor (userpreferences, editor, value '3')? The tinyMCE editor has the ability to use stylesheets, whereas the RTE editor is only a basic editor aimed at making things as simple as possible.
Unfortunatley, it tends to be a function of the WYSIWYG editors around to use tables rather than CSS. I have put a request in to the authors of tinyMCE to see if they can create a method to create 'div' tags.

Just spotted the Online Docs in the
"xdbcms_online_docs" subdirectory

Documentation does not have information on commands for each option?

Title is restricted to 50 Characters
<title>01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789</title>
You mention this "Short Description:(appears in page title)" but it also appears in the "Menu" can this be seperated into two fields please.
Thankyou
I would like to suggest the use of the overLIB javascript (
http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/ ) for all your page Item hints and descriptions.

As an update, there is now a keywords list within the user documentation on the xdbcms website.
