Gerd, First, thx a lot for your response, i will look into it Mon morning. However, this test was done after booting the rack with xCAT to statelite image so xCAT must be familiar with those nodes and hostnames. Also, pping to all those nodes works. i still think its something with nodestat (i recall similar bug some time ago but it was fixed). thx.
