Category: Deployment-linux Group: 2.7.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jan Ranck-Gustafson (ranck) Assigned to: yangsong (immarvin) Summary: xCAT not handling the yum.repos correctly Initial Comment: RHEL6.2 xCAT-2.7.2-snap201205230215.x86_64 /etc/yum.repos.d/rhels6.2.repo was defined at node installation time as: [rhels6.2] name=rhels6.2 baseurl=http://10.20.3.1//rhels6.2/x86_64 enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 However when we tried to run updatenode it returned saying it couldn't find the repository. If we mount /install over nfs and ran updatenode, it recreated the repo file and succeeded. /etc/yum.repos.d(0)$ cat rhels6.2.repo [rhels6.2] name=rhels6.2 baseurl=file:///install/rhels6.2/x86_64 enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 Linda Mellor was on the system at the time helping to debug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Linda Mellor (mellor) Date: 2012-06-29 08:05 Message: Yan Song - Jan was using the 'updatenode login -S' command to update software on a diskfull login node that was being managed directly from the xCAT management node. The updatenode code called the ospkgs postscript which created the rhels6.2.repo file. I do not have access to the cluster to provide the other information you requested. Maybe Jan can help with that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: yangsong (immarvin) Date: 2012-06-29 02:15 Message: Linda, the file /etc/yum.repos.d/rhels6.2.repo is not defined at node installation time, as the repo defined at installation time should be named "local-repository.repo" by "addsiteyum" PS. the repo named "rhels6.2.repo" should be created by "ospkgs", I guess that "ospkgs" has been added as a postscript in node definition, or it has been run by "updatenode" command sometime before. Would you pls help me to verify this on your ENV? thx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: yangsong (immarvin) Date: 2012-06-29 00:27 Message: ranck, Linda, I cannot recreate the defect on my env. I need some details on your environment. Would you pls provide the following info if convenient? 1. the node object definition on the MN 2. the content of "/xcatpost/mypostscript" on the CN when updatenode complains invalid repository ? thx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Linda Mellor (mellor) Date: 2012-06-27 04:33 Message: FYI - This was a diskfull install for a login node direct from the xCAT management node. There are no service nodes on this cluster. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Guang Cheng Li (ligc) Date: 2012-06-26 18:39 Message: Yang Song, could you work on this bug? thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jan Ranck-Gustafson (ranck) Date: 2012-06-26 08:59 Message: Forgot to add, this is diskfull install. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1006945&aid=3538134&group_id=208749 |
