Category: AIX-specific Group: 2.6.9 Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: BaiYuan (amy0701) >Assigned to: Lissa Valletta (lissav) Summary: makedns resolve both external and internal ip Initial Comment: My MN is hv32s38p20.There are 2 ip's in hv32s38p20;One is external, the other is internal. After I executed `makedns -n` in hv32s38p20,it can resolve 2 hostname's and ip's for the host; This problem affect mknimimage and nimconfig command. The detail information is as following: # cat /etc/resolv.conf search ppd.pok.ibm.com nameserver 192.168.5.183 #cat /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 loopback localhost # loopback (lo0) name/address ::1 loopback localhost # IPv6 loopback (lo0) name/address 192.168.5.183 hv32s38p20.ppd.pok.ibm.com hv32s38p20 After I executed `makedns -n`,the output of the nslookup is as following; # nslookup hv32s38p20 Server: 192.168.5.183 Address: 192.168.5.183#53 Name: hv32s38p20.ppd.pok.ibm.com Address: 192.168.5.183 Name: hv32s38p20.ppd.pok.ibm.com Address: 9.114.34.105 If I execute nimconfig command, it always find the external ip first; bash-3.2# nimconfig -a pif_name=en1 -a master_port=1058 -a netname=master_net -a cable_type=N/A 0042-001 nimconfig: processing error encountered on "master": 0042-180 m_chmaster: The ip address 9.114.34.105 does not belong to the network 192.168.5.0 which is represented by the nim object master_net. The output of ifconfig -a command is as following: # ifconfig -a en0: flags=1e080863,c0<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST,GROUPRT,64BIT,CHECKSUM_OFFLOAD(ACTIVE),LARGESEND,CHAIN> inet 9.114.34.105 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 9.114.34.255 tcp_sendspace 131072 tcp_recvspace 65536 rfc1323 0 en1: flags=1e080863,480<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST,GROUPRT,64BIT,CHECKSUM_OFFLOAD(ACTIVE),CHAIN> inet 192.168.5.183 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.5.255 tcp_sendspace 262144 tcp_recvspace 262144 rfc1323 1 The external ip is the first; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1006945&aid=3432810&group_id=208749 |
