As part of the HPC Integration testing with xCAT 2.5 working with AIX71.
There is an error when trying to install fileset sysmgt.sguide.rte when
running with the installp_bundle file IBMhpc_base.bnd .
You can see the error when looking at the /var/adm/ras/nim.installp file
on the installed node ..
.....
Missing Filesets
The following filesets could not be found on the installation media.
If you feel these filesets really are on the media, check for typographical
errors in the name specified or, if installing from directory, check for
discrepancies between the Table of Contents file (.toc) and the images that
reside in the directory.
sysmgt.sguide.rte Not found on the installation media
....
The reason for this error is that sysmgt.sguide is no longer supported in AIX71 images.
The sysmgt.sguide package is still found in AIX61L images ...
We may need to update this installp_bundle file and make this listed as an optional
fileset that is only used when working with AIX61 installations.
Sun Jing, could you please help to have a look this defect? thx.
Just check with Fu ZhiWen, LL developer in CDL, and he mentioned "I checked the latest installation guide. we are not depend on sysmgt.*gui.rte anymore. I remember it was associated with our xloadl GUI program which already deprecated and removed.".
I looked through the "Software requirements" section in LL V4.1 Installation Guide, which works with AIX61(TL 6100–04) and AIX53(5300–11), and found sysmgt.sguide.rte is not listed there.
LL v4.1 Installation Guide online:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/c2366800.pdf
I will verify it with AIX 61L installation, if no issues, I will remove
sysmgt.sguide.rte from IBMhpc_base.bnd, which is common to AIX61 and AIX71.
Low priority, but the code change may need regression for HPC integration, so move it to 2.5.1.
Fixed.
Removed sysmgt.sguide.rte from IBMhpc_base.bnd since it's a LL dependency anymore.
