Hi Zenju, first of all i want to thank you for your awesorme job : )

I have a question about Hqmame, if you can help me:

I use hqmame, for me, the best mame emulator by far, because of the 5xbrz scaler, but ¿there is any purpose to add a GUI interface or D3D video backend? I use the M+GUI interface with Hqmame, but ingame, if you try to configure the buttons, by pressing tab key, the config menu looks very very fuzzy, it can be solved by selecting D3D in the M+GUI Options, but Hqmame doesn´t support D3D and if you do this, the filter goes out.

Please, apologize me for my english, thanks for your help and congrats again for all your work.

Currently only the Direct Draw and GDI output modes are supported. D3D could be supported, too, in theory, but the code is much more difficult, and it doesn't seem to offer any advantage over the other two output modes. Except for maybe the menu, yes :)

Actually D3D's main advantage in mame is that it would allow filters like xbrz to be used together with bilinear and the various scanlines and rgb effects, as seen in mameplus. In hqmame when using Direct Draw and GDI there is not bilinear and scanlines effects are enlarged making them unusable. Something similar is already achieved in your snes9x+xbrz release with the use of shaders. xbrz+bilnear+scanlines= best image output as far as pc monitors are used.

Zenju, I agree with @psychic5. How would I go about adding D3D support to Hqmame?
