Hi guys. I would like to say thanks for this incredible addition to mame world. This mame alternative is great. I use xbrz since I found it and I use it with every emulators that support it. Its the best plugin out there.

I wanna point out an issue (I guess its an issue) with latest version of HqMAME where all the HqMAME menus are messed up. I can see all the options but they all are some kind of blurred, without good focus and pixalated.

Is that any kind of configuration that can be donne so HqMAME will show all its menus in a better resolution without al these crazy bugs?

My guess is that its caused by brz filters running for all mame dialogs/guis/menus. Is that possible to have the filters/plugins load only when loading the games? And letting the mame menus as it is on official mame?

Another question, do you guys intend to update HqMAME to mame 0.170?

Anyway, thanks for the great work with xbrz.

    sorry about my english.

By default HqMAME uses "-scaler 5xbrz" which is ideal for 1080p displays. Maybe this is too high for your resolution? The options described in the README file should be all that is needed to set up HqMAME:

I use the attached Leros10 font as the uifont in HqMame. This font helps the menus look better. I think any bit mapped or raster font should work.

How can you use it with HqMAME?

Put Leros10.fon in the directory specified by the fontpath statement in mame.ini. Under CORE MISC OPTIONS in mame.ini, set uifont to Leros10.

        #
        # CORE MISC OPTIONS
        #
        uifont Leros10

I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature, but putting a garbage font name like "uifont asdfsdakf" results in a quite nice font. There is no difference to "uifont Leros10" in my tests.

            Okay: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/docs/config.txt

            -uifont <fontname></fontname>

Specifies the name of a font file to use for the UI font. If this font cannot be found or cannot be loaded, the system will fall back to its built-in UI font. On some platforms 'fontname' can be a system font name (TTF) instead of a (BDF) font file. The default is 'default' (use the OSD-determined default font).
