TV Overscan Compensation (for PAL and NTSC TV's)
Without having to specify a smaller resolution!!

This can be done via controlling Xbox hardware, Xbox
video encoder chip (Coexant CX25870/871)
can do this if you can find a why to code/program it.

Just make sure changed settings not saved into EEPROM.

Xbox video encoder chip (Coexant CX25870/871)
source code for it's control features are available:

(Also has code for the nVidia SMBus controller)

It turns out there is the Be TV Out project that supports
this chip http://sourceforge.net/projects/betvout/
