With cvs build from september 11 2003, if xbmp tries to
access an image which is corrupted or has a misnamed
extension, it will crash.
There may also be similar crashes with corrupted mp3s
but I haven't been able to verify that yet.
This issue can be reproduced by renaming a .gif to .jpg
and trying to access it in my pictures (tested via hdd,
smb, xbmsx). if such a file exists in a directory,
generate thumbs will fail on the offending image and the
xbox will freeze.
The same thing happens if the image is corrupted.
xbox 1.3 with bert reloaded, loading xbmp drectly, via
evo-x or avalaunch. standard a/v cable and dvd kit
remote.

Please try this with the very latest CVS code to see if fixed

i have just tested with xbmp 2003-10-29 and xbmc 2003-11-14
and this problem still exists in both versions. i tested by
taking a working jpg and renaming it a gif, and also taking
a jpg and inserting some garbage into the file, both
resulting in a crash.
