I have ripped a couple of DVDs and am playing it back
with XBMP 9-11-03 from the HD. The VOB files contain
both the English and German sound tracks.
I select the first VOB file and click play and that
works fine. It plays in English as I wanted it.
I queue up the other VOB files but when XBMP switches
to the second VOB file the language changes to German.
I go into the settings ->Sound of XBMP and it is
showing that it is playing audio stream 1 but the audio
is German.
I manually change the audio stream to stream 2 and it
is still in German. I then manually change back to
stream 1 and it comes up correctly in English.
This happens with most VOB files which contain multiple
audio tracks.

I seen the same thing in XBMP 2.4 point release, and with AVI,
I do not recall this working correctly (ever) in XBMP before.
XBMP discussion on this bug here:

act=ST;f=12;t=5736;
The same thing happes if you try to switch stream in one file.
Note! The bug is not XBMP switching streams back to the first
when change file in playlist but the way it displays/show track.
