It's possible to add another 64 MB in the four spare sockets on the=3D20 motherboard. I don't think it's possible to replace the existing = RAM,=3D20 but I haven't tried. As far as Linux is concerned support for more than 64 MB is = untested=3D20 yet. That's likely to change, however. Today I got my additional 64=3D20 MB from Wolfsoft (http://www.wolfsoft.de). As soon as I find the = time=3D20 to solder the chips I'll get the Linux on the box to support them.=3D20 I'll keep the list informed of any progress. =3D2D -Oliver PS: These kind of questions are better asked on xbox-linux-devel =3D2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE/DvAb/V6sbrmfIuMRAirFAJ4jLRdffXDTTz8ml6kYFFIZPrUrHwCeO9ux vWusVcFiypA3rehdjShqrz4=3D3D =3D3DcQ9L =3D2D----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --__--__-- Message: 2 From: "Steve Yalovitser" <ya...@in...> To: <xbo...@li...> Date: Fri, 11 Jul 2003 18:35:03 -0400 Subject: [Xbox-linux-hacking] MTBF of an XBOX Folks, This may not be the right area to ask the question, but as its hardware oriented, here goes... I've been running Ps2 w/Linux for many days (40)straight and after a = while I've started manifesting problems w/DVD as well as the HD due to overheating/fan issues. Has anyone run the XBOX as a "server" 24/7 for a long period of time, = and experienced any heat related issues? Or other failure issues you wouldnt find in a typical intel server? Cheers, Steve V.
