Think of XBMC and linux as two seperate apps. Don't think of it as an actual operating system for the xbox, unless you want to think of XBMC and EvoX and Avalaunch as apps too. linux can be launched from XBMC or any other illegal hacker dash. Linux cannot launch any other applications. -Patrick P.S. the thing about having that version xbox means you have a certain dash version and a kernel that won't let you downgrade. If you can find a hack that works on that dash version (certainly not the xbox-linux hack. you'll have to look to the dark side for help there) then you should be fine.
