Counting down 'clicks left' and maybe counting up 'total clicks' or something and perhaps a reset button. I'll look into it before the next release. > I have modified the program for 1,000,000 > clicks in order to use it for game testing. It has been working great! That's good to hear. I'll set all maximums to 2^31-1 in the next release. No idea why I ever restricted them in the first place. Regards, --Ivo |

Hi Ivo, I was wondering if it might be possible to add a mouse click counter at the bottom of the gui? That way I could see how many clicks are left until the "auto-clicker" stops. I have modified the program for 1,000,000 clicks in order to use it for game testing. It has been working great! Thanks and best regards, Stephen |

Hi Stephen, [cc'd to the mailinglist for future reference] On Tuesday 20 April 2010, 00:25:59, Stephen Blessing wrote: > Thanks for your prompt reply! > I am not a programmer... you lost me in the weeds :) > Can you translate the programming lingo for me? For example, I run the K Desktop Environment (KDE). Pressing Control+Shift+Tab traverses the list of virtual desktops. Each xautoclick GUI has a function called click_mouse_button(). If you add the following code to that function before the mouse click calls, it will press and release control+shift+tab before each mouse click: KeyCode kc1 = XKeysymToKeycode(display, XK_Control_L); KeyCode kc2 = XKeysymToKeycode(display, XK_Shift_L); KeyCode kc3 = XKeysymToKeycode(display, XK_Tab); /* press */ XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc1, True, 0); XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc2, True, 0); XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc3, True, 0); /* release */ XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc3, False, 0); XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc2, False, 0); XTestFakeKeyEvent(display, kc1, False, 0); At the top of the same file, you need to add: #include <X11/keysym.h> I have quickly tested this with guigtk2.c running under KDE and it works. Gnome will have similar keyboard shortcuts to switch between workspaces. You can look in /usr/include/X11/keysymdef.h to find the XK_ names for the keys you need. Oh, and don't forget to recompile :) Regards, --Ivo |

If you are using a windowmanager that allows switching workspaces by pressing keycombinations, you can insert XTestFakeKeyEvent() calls between each automatic click. If not, you could place each application instance at the same workspace and use XTestFakeMotionEvent() to automatically move the mousecursor and click within the boundaries of different windows. Thank you so much for developing this program! I have been looking for months for something like this for my automated testing needs. I am using Fedora Core 10 to run automated tests on an embedded gaming application, and I was wondering if there is some way to make this work in all four workspaces at the same time... maybe some type of quad-mouse cursor or multiple cursor capability. What I am trying to do is test games in all my workspaces 4+ optimizing the use of my computing capability. Thanks again and best regards, Stephen Blessing |
