Xastir no longer uses sourceforge

The Xastir project moved to github in 2016 and no longer uses sourceforge at all. This repository should be considered a historical archive of a very ancient version of the code. Please see https://github.com/Xastir/Xastir for the current code and issue tracking system.

Xastir sources have moved to GitHub

The code on SourceForge is frozen, so don't expect new updates on that site. The latest release there is xastir-2.0.8, released 2016-07-01. All newer releases and the latest source code can be found here: http://github.com/Xastir

Xastir's homepage: http://xastir.org. Xastir's homepage has a link showing how to use Git.

Configure

The AutoStuff (tm) procedure has changed, somewhat radically. This will possibly break some builds; cgywin, OSX, to name a couple. Problems will be worked out over the next couple of weeks. Please forward any issues (and your workarounds) to the list.

Initial support for Windows added (using Cygwin)

During the past year we've added another language (Portuguese), more map types, more user interface features, more types of TNC/Weather interfaces, and implemented many bug fixes. Soon we'll be upgrading the "configure" script to better support the original operating systems plus a wide variety of Windows operating systems. See the Xastir homepage, the "Xastir Features" link, for the latest detailed list of features.

Render Survey (X11)

I've had WE7U create a survey for me on the Xastir sourceforge project page. From the main page, select Surveys and then click on the survey ID (12900) to fill it out. I want to get an idea of how many Xastir users could benefit from display code that uses the XFree86 RENDER extension.

Thanks in advance for your participation,

Olivier Calle

Xastir finds a new crib

There are many reasons that I can think of that make sourceforge an attractive place to coordinate further development of XASTIR. I hope you like the new place and take advantage of the many resources available here.
