This might be caused by an incorrect LANG setting. Is the problem consistent?
I use a LANG setting of 'C' or 'en_US', which makes printf/sprintf/fprintf/scanf/sscanf/fscanf work properly.

Going to RESOLVED WORKSFORME this bug. I use the ICP station icon all the time and it works. I think Curt's right, this was a LANG issue or something.
