Also, if it's possible, it'd be awesome if an Xfce version were released with the same effects, or at least as close as possible. Other suggestions: x64 version and text installer. (I haven't yet used Vixta, so I don't know if it already has any of this.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-08-05 11:46 Message: Logged In: NO Wine?Just uninstall it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-05-19 23:00 Message: Logged In: NO WINE is certainly a necessity to free the users (and also the software houses) from being kept sequestered by a number of situations created by Micro$oft that violate the freedom and ownership of the programs used. The fact is that all these programs do not belong to M$ but M$ build it's Empire on an effective control over them... and wants to keep it that way! WINE is the most valid solution to the problem created to the Software houses and the users BY M$ to its own profit. About the look-and-feel of ViXta ... - For decades now M$ puts it's hand in whatever alien (to them) technology it can. M$ windows does just that and we cannot but smile with the introduction in the new look pseudo-new OS called Vista ... So many borrowed from several Linux Windows managers... - The Look ... is part of the problem... not because the niceness but because the aditiveness it causes on uses... and how it is used to identify what the users were CONDITIONED to accept as confortable and homy... People DO LOOK at "the looks" by conditioning... Such situation must be reversed for justice and fairness ,,, In this case is like painting someone to be accepted in the desired club. Conclusion: There are 2 aspects: Tecnological and Estetic. M$ 'borrows' from one (avoiding the reverse using the legal system) and manipulates the other. Both against public interest. This is my personal view of the matter. Make your own and make it wise! Cheers, DuLac A reminder: Remember GEM from Digital research... killed by M$ threats of so-called 'legal' action against it... a foolish thing but able to destroi Digital Research even when it would won the process ... That was the treath: "You will win... but die in the process" (This is an example of how the so-called legal system is used to criminal ends... but that is another story) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jacob (lazymonkey44) Date: 2008-03-29 03:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2048918 Originator: NO this would be great! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2008-02-27 00:47 Message: Logged In: NO must evey one loves widows programs on linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2007-11-13 10:06 Message: Logged In: NO This is an Must to do !!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: sovietSimonTek (sovietsimontek) Date: 2007-11-12 22:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1935776 Originator: NO thanks m8 are listed :) so Cedega is payware and, for this reason, cannot be integrated? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: buu700 (buu700) Date: 2007-11-12 21:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1906693 Originator: YES sovietsimontek, Depends on the game you want to run. This had 3D desktop effects working fine. I have just installed the latest version Vixta 3D-v9.03. In this version the 3D effects will not run. I am also uncertain about the KDE4 desktop. I have tried a few distros using KDE4, and I don't know if it is just me, but I find its performance a disappointment and would rather use a KDE3.xx desktop. I am actually wondering if it is KDE4 that is preventing 3D desktop effects from somehow running. Anyone else had similar difficulties, or possibly have an answer? Hello, For those of you who are interested I'm currently writing a Wikipedia Article on Vixta(link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chris_G/Vixta). I was just wondering if there was a centralized page was info on release etc. Also I would like to chech some of the following details: Initial release 2007 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007> (age 0–1) Update method Yum <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_dog_Updater%2C_Modified>, Anaconda <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaconda_%28installer%29> Package manager RPM Package Manager<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPM_Package_Manager> Supported platforms x86 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86>, X86-64<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64>, PowerPC <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerPC>are those all correct? (It would be good if you could link me to a page with this sort of info) Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know and any help would be much appreciated! - Chris |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4954264 By: essenby Hi. Veery impressed with Vixta 3D (098.01), it is one of the very few distro that recognise my Atheros 5006 card "out of the box". However - do get a problem when trying to connect to a wireless network. The network manager "sees the network and allows e to select it, but when I enter the SSID and encryptions detail, a dialogue opens asking me for a password to acces the "default keyring". I cannot ignore this, or by-pass it, and worse, I cannot guess the password! Anyone know what it is please? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
