To avoid all compilation problems with different versions of operating systems and dependencies brainstorms, I create a project on Github called x11basic docker : https://github.com/shakenfr/x11basic_docker/blob/master/README.md
This docker file compile x11-basic with the abstration of all dependencies.
After you can use the image stored on docker hub (https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/shakenfr/x11basic/tags?page=1) to use in your host : ubuntu,debian....on all hosts with docker installed.
