I dont know. But why should it? There is a compatibility level in Android. Old apps can run on newer Android versions. I think the issue mentioned above is just about the Play store and API level 28 (for the compilation of the app). The f-droid play store has no such restrictions, at least until now.

I intend to find out. I just pulled the trigger on this with a $28 discount coupon, making a new one cheaper than the refurbs,

VANKYO MatrixPad S30 10 inch Octa-Core Tablet, Android 9.0 Pie, 3GB RAM, 32GB Storage, 13MP Rear Camera, 1920x1200 IPS Full HD Display, Bluetooth 5.0, 5G Wi-Fi, GPS, Silver

OK, the on-screen keyboard on the Vankyo running Android 9 gives XBasic 1.27-59-unstable fits, similar fits to what it gives SourceForge's post editor, while a Bluetooth keyboard seems to work fine. It's as if the backspace key has no effect and autocorrect's partial results are stuffed into XBasic's event queue.

Screenshots forthcoming when I beat Google Drive into submission.

920 is next to unusable on the Vankyo tablet Android 9 but works much better on the Samsung S20 FE running Android 10. I'll look into the other recommended editor; hopefully that one works better with Android 9 and 10 as well as older devices.

Code Editor by Rhythm Software seems OK so far, but it has nagging ads.
