In the later stages of developing a new app and was just told that my version, probably over 3 years old has expired. I had no idea that this was a possibility and it raises questions.
    1. I stuck with this version because you (Markus) had offerred a couple of new commands... something like showkeyboard and hidekeyboard. I noticed that the manual was never updated with these commands, so I assumed they were unique to the version you told me to upload, and so I have stuck with it. So is that the case?
    2. If versions actually become stale, and updates are required, what happens if apps are distributed to others without being compiled to object files? Those that were distributed to will also require updates, correct? And depending on you answer to question 1, their apps may no longer work.
    3. Sorry to have to ask this one, but if versions become stale, what happens if you get hit by a bus? Will everyone eventually lose their x-11?

    Thanks for your help here

Google has removed X11-Basic from its App-Store. They say, it does not comply with their rules anymore. I am sorry.

But this is no such a problem at all. X11-Basic for Android is still available on F-Droid. You can (re-)install it from there with no restrictions (it cannot expire or such). Also you could install the .apk file you find in the files section of sourceforge.

Since X11-Basic is 100% free and open source, anybody can develop and compile this app from the sources. Nothing relies on the presence of the original author.

Your bas programs will stay on the phone (even when X11-Basic is uninstalled) and will be usable with the new versions of X11-Basic.

Google has banned the X11-Basic App from its play store because it doesn't comply with their new rules anymore.

So I cannot support Google Play store anymore, I am very sorry. If you want to continue using one of my apps, I can recommend to use the F-droid play store and install them from there. Or you can directly download the .apk file from here:

    https://f-droid.org/de/packages/de.hoffmannsgimmickstaupunkt/
    (Dew Point)
    or
    https://f-droid.org/de/packages/net.sourceforge.x11basic/
    (X11-Basic)

and install it manually. Your .bas programs will not be erased when uninstalling and reinstalling X11-Basic and can still be used. However you will need to eventually recompile .b files from the .bas files.

I am sorry for your inconvinience.

Also you can find an .apk file in the files section of sourceforge. Maybe this is even more recent. And it has the libgmp compiled in.
