Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Howdy guys! My name is Andreas Ravnestad, and I'm the founder of this
project. When I posted the job offering on Sourceforge, I did not expect the
wealth of replies that I actually recieved. So that forced me to just ask
you all to subscribe to this mailing list untill further noticed.
Well, here we are, and I think you guys are the most serious ones of
everyone that replied to the job offering. So why don't we start out pretty
soft, and introduce ourselves :)
My name is, as stated above, Andreas Ravnestad. I'm a 21 years old computer
science student from Norway, and I work part time as a
ecommerce/eprocurement systems tester, and I do a little webdesign and
webprogramming as well. I drive a dark green Saab 900, and I love horseback
riding, sports fishing, and hunting.
So, who are you guys? :)
Kind regards,
Andreas Ravnestad

Hi!
So far there are only a few persons subscribed to this mailing list, so
we'll wait a few days before we get started with the discussion and planning
around this project. Untill then, I can deal out some personal information
on myself. My full name is Andreas Ravnestad, I live in Aalesund City in
Norway, and I'm a computer science student at the Aalesund university
college. I'm 21 years old, and I work part time as a tester and freelance
developer for a company called Millum, which is located in Oslo, the capital
of Norway. I have never administered a project with so many members before,
so this will be an interesting challenge.
Untill next time, peace and prosperity! ;)
Kind regards,
Andreas Ravnestad
