I often find myself pressing Ctrl-U expecting my input
to be cleared (I can do this with zMUD and Trillian Pro
2.0)
This basically clears everything I've typed, allowing
me to type something different in without having to
wait for backspace or whatever to delete everything.

Accelerators (don't ask) aren't sorted out yet. As soon we
have the accelerators in one place as it should be, we can
easily add that Ctrl-U thing. Thanks for mentioning it, I
wasn't aware of it as my main client clears the last command
and for graphical clients I know what I type beforehand and
can either delete everything in the beginning or not delete
at all (in the beginning it's all selected and a backspace
hit suffices).
So, yeah, it will be part of the to-do keyboard accelerators.

People should list the "odd" accelerators that should exist
in this feature request here.
