Himm, what is your idea for empty tags?
Denying it or system might update it with start offset of tag... I think showing tag offset instead of blanks is better solution.
I don't understand what you mean with color wheel & color selection options. You can change tag colors with pressing the color buttons. (I am also using linux?)
Now working on #1.
If you give ideas for #2, could arrange something.

we have 3 windows!!
one for the "tag dialog" and a separate colour wheel...
Why not combine it so that there are say 30 preset colours in the tag dialog
and as the user enters the tag information they choose one of the presets.
THEN if they don't like the preset they can change the colour., with an RGB slider integrated INTO the tag dialog window.

Well, integrating color-well into the TagDialog is not an easy thing to do.
I understand what do you wanted. I will look some wx codes/samples to find easier picking mechanism. But don't think if it's ready on next version.
Thanks

For a work around, I implemented "Quick Tag" menu command that creates TAG with Random color without showing dialog.
Might putting a "random color" button to tag dialog might be another work around for easy color selection.
