Can you please recompile dclib and valknut with --enable-debug passed to configure so that the backtrace includes where in main.cpp the crash is. It appears to be before QApplication::exec() has been called, but there are lots of calls to QApplication::processEvents().
Also: there are many problems (mostly fixed in svn) with the build system and header file locations etc. that may cause you to end up with a broken dclib/valknut if you have any older versions of dclib installed when you compile dclib or valknut.
