Christian, a question before approving the component: how does exactly 
this component would differ from the current "wxLED" component?

[wxCode-users] dispatching mail from wxCode DB to wxcode-users is broken

Hi all,
     the subject of the mail says pretty much everything.

I've spent the last 2 hours trying to understand what exactly does fail 
but currently the new component submissions go in the wxCode DB but then 
the cron job (which is regularly run) dispatches them only as 
notifications to the component submitters (as it should do) but the 
mails don't get to wxcode-users mailing list (as they should do).

I can't even use "mail" command from sourceforge shell servers to send 
mails to this mailing list: i.e. I can use it and it says delivering is 
successful but then the mail does not appear here.

I've disabled all anti-SPAM features of the mailing list but this didn't 
help (and now I've restored them).

I suspect the problem is because now SF's mailman is stricter than 
before and probably pings the address in the "Return-path" header of all 
mails it receives to check if it's valid. And _probably_ mails sent from 
sourceforge's shell either do not have a valid Return-path or do not 
reply to the ping correctly.

BTW, I'm just saying "probably" because I don't have access to any 
mailman log (as I'm not "root" on SF shell servers).

[wxCode-users] Delphi "XP Theme" in wxWidgets

hello everyone. i am starting a project on sf.net to attempt to clone as 
reasonable close as possible the wxDev-C++ ide in wxWidgets so it can be 
used by developers on other platforms. there are a few technical 
difficulties of course.

two dealing with the interface are coolbar (not in linux as far as i am 
aware)
and xp theme. i am wondering if anyone knows of any project or work 
toward that kind of component set has been done for wxWidgets? this 
would involve new components that wrap the native ones and can be 
toggled to overwrite the drawing.

i am thinking that if not, i would need to build some. i am not sure if 
it is better to post that component set should i need to build it here 
or on the ide project space.

the project unix is wxdevide

i think i will ask on the wxWidgets forum too after i see what i get in 
response here.

yes, exactly. If you have just upgraded your bakefile version to 0.2.2 
you should remove those auto-generated .m4 files (i.e. "aclocal.m4" and 
"autoconf_inc.m4") and also the "autom4te.cache" folder and then rerun 
the bakefile_gen and acregen.sh script.

If the mismatch persists, then you'll need to be sure that the directory 
returned by `aclocal --print-ac-dir` does contain the bakefile*.m4 files 
with the correct BAKEFILE_BAKEFILE_M4_VERSION string.

Ok, then this is because somehow the <app-type>gui</app-type> tag is not 
embedded in your target.

If you're using <wxcode-sample> tag for building your samples, this 
shouldn't happen: as you can see in 
wxCode\build\bakefiles\presets\templates.bkl, wxcode-sample tag does 
pass the <app-type>gui tag.

If you're using <wxcode-exe>, then you need to use the 
<app-type>gui</app-type> tag yourself explicitely.
I don't remember why this worked with previous bakefiles but it seems 
logical to me that <wxcode-exe> shouldn't assume you're building a GUI app.

There's also a difference in the versions of the bakefile and autoconf versions.

BAKEFILE_BAKEFILE_M4_VERSION="0.2.0"
BAKEFILE_AUTOCONF_INC_M4_VERSION="0.2.2"

Giving you this message.

"Versions of Bakefile used to generate makefiles 0.2.2 and configure
0.2.0 do not match."

If you just edit the configure script and change them both to 0.2.2 it
works. I can't find where these get set, but they're in the generated
files "aclocal.m4" and "autoconf_inc.m4" after running aclocal.sh.

I think the directory name of the component should remain "commander" 
but I can easily change the component name in the wxCode database...

well, I haven't been able to test msvs2005prj too (i.e. I only baked it, 
not opened) as last time I installed msvs2005 I promptly turned back to 
my msvc2003 for various reasons (lack of platform SDK, lots of .NET 
stuff I'll never use, slower, etc).

Once again, since I don't have msvs2005 installed, if you could report 
this bug on bakefile-dev mailing list testing a bakefile "test" program 
(under your C:\programs\bakefile\tests folder) and confirm the bug, it 
would be great.

this must be a problem with msvs2005prj of bakefile since wxCode 
bakefiles do use the <headers> tag also for all formats.

If you could report it on bakefile-dev mailing list (unfortunately I'm 
out of time now and don't even have MSVS2005 installed: you should test 
if the same problem happens when baking e.g. 
bakefiles/tests/headers/headers.bkl), it would be great.

2) The version of wxWidgets is already bumped to 29? Shouldn't we
still be at 28?

Other than that it looks good. I haven't been able to test in MSVC2005
since the service pack 1 update destroyed it and I cannot compile
anything right now. This is even after uninstalling everything and
reinstalling... sigh.

Although  something might be wrong with the msvs2005 projects. They
don't add the "Header Files" to the project. It works fine when opening
the dsw (msvc6) file and converting it to msvs2005 though.

I didn't add them to the SVN to avoid a double-set of files to keep in 
synch... OTOH I understand that it makes using wxCode SVN more 
uncomfortable... so, in the hope the wxCode bakefiles / template files 
won't need much changes in future, I've added then now also to the SVN repo.

[wxCode-users] Problem testing the new wxCode bakefile

Hi, I'm having some problems with the new bakefiles.
I'm using Bakefile 0.2.2 on windows.

Here's the output of "bakefile_gen -v" in the build dir:

I don't know why I get that wxcode-exe tag is unknown. It loads the new
include files just fine.

to SVN. This will be useful for those of us no longer using CVS.

Use "wxcode-exe" in this case.

It's a fusion of wx,wxlike,wxcode-basic templates which builds the 
COMP_SRC and COMP_HDR sources & headers, which are vars which  default to:

     <set var="COMP_SRC" overwrite="0">$(fileList('src/*.c*'))</set>
     <set var="COMP_HDR" overwrite="0">$(fileList('include/wx/*.h'))</set>

(looking at wxArg, you'll probably need to do):

<wxcode-exe ...>

    <!-- by default wxCode bakefiles looks for headers in include/wx,
         but we keep the headers directly in "include" instead:
    -->
    <headers>$(fileList('include/*.h'))</headers>
</wxcode-exe>

or alternatively do:

    <!-- by default wxCode bakefiles looks for headers in include/wx,
         but we keep the headers directly in "include" instead:
    -->
    <set var="COMP_HDR">$(fileList('include/*.h'))</set>

before declaring the wxcode-exe target.
